Goodwood Revival 13-15 September
The sundrenched 2019 Revival Meeting will live long in the memory of visitors for the ferocity of the racing, the galaxy of stars and all the theatre and attention to detail with which the event has become synonymous. There were special celebrations for Sir Jackie Stewart in the 50th anniversary year of his first F1 title, as well as the Mini, while Dane Tom Kristensen again lit up the track. One of the most popular off-track features was the painstaking re-enactment of key scenes from The Italian Job.





Concours of elegance, 6-8 September
This spectacular event at Hampton Court Palace has cemented its status as the UK’s – and probably Europe’s – premier concours. Overall winner was a polished Rolls- Royce Silver Ghost (top right), while Octane and Evo’s People’s Choice award went to a Van Vooren-style Bugatti Type 57 (below) that echoed the Shah of Persia car.





Pebble beach concours and tour, 15 & 18 august
Ever-more enthusiasts take advantage of the opportunity to see the majority of the Concours cars free-of-charge on the Thursday tour that precedes the main event. On the Sunday, the star was a British-restored Bentley 8 Litre (see page 92).





The quail, a motorsports gathering, 16 august
The winner of the Octane trophy (hand-crafted by artist Jonny Ambrose) was a Nash Healey Le Mans prototype.





lebanon maserati jubilee, 8 september
There was a sizeable gathering at a Beirut villa to mark a half-century of Maserati sales in Lebanon. Cars on display included the 1968 Ghibli that was the first!

BDC Silverstone, 3 august
The Bentley Drivers Club held its 71st annual race meeting at Silverstone.

supercar owners’ circle 30 august – 1 september
A rally was held in the Swiss Alps to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Supercar Owners’ Circle, with more than 80 supercars and hypercars.

bentleys at blenheim, 8 september
More than 1300 Bentleys converged to set a new record.

cotswold economy drive, 25 august
Everything from Gilbern to Alpine took part in the 21st running of Peter and Lin Baker’s event.

carfest south, 23-25 august
Many judged Chris Evans’ festival at Jody Scheckter’s Laverstoke Park Farm to be the best yet. The Grand Prix Through The Ages paddock certainly supported that claim.

VSCC loton park hill climb, 7-8 september
‘The Toy’ – David Furnell’s Austin Seven and current points leader in the VSCC Speed Championship – leads cars down the Shropshire hill after their runs.
